One Great Knitter
Write about a knitter whose work (whether because of project choice, photography, styling, scale of projects, stash, etc) you enjoy. If they have an enjoyable blog, you might find it a good opportunity to send a smile their way.
I’m being a bit naughty and going for two……..
Well I am sure a lot of people will say Elizabeth Zimmerman, Kim Hargreaves, etc etc, but I’m going for a couple of more recent knitters for my “great knitters”.
I am not sucking up or anything but I find Mimi from Eskimimiknits one of my favourite knitters. Although she hasn’t been knitting that long, in that time she has really embraced it and had a go at things that beginning knitters don’t usually attempt. She has thrown herself into complicated techniques like entrelac and colourwork and come out the end of it totally unscathed! As for her photography of her projects, well that is something to aspire to.
My other choice has to be Ysolda Teague. Quite frankly I’m a bit jealous of her! Still in her early 20s, she is an accomplished knitter, has had her designs published in Twist Collective and has published two books of patterns. And she bakes. She is one of those people who makes you wish you could start all over again!
Thank you for all the comments yesterday, and just so you know, I DID start the Endpaper Mitts yesterday.
