A New Skill

A New Skill

Is there a skill related to your hobby that you hope to learn one day? maybe you’re a crocheter who’d also like to knit? Maybe you’d like to learn to knit continental, knit backwards, try cables or attempt stranded colourwork.

I think I am a couple of weeks too late for today’s topic.  I would have said entrelac but I conquered that one recently.  Then I would have said stranded colourwork but I am currently working on the Endpaper Mitts and it is all going swimmingly so far (hope I’m not speaking too soon!).
I suppose the most scary technique to have a go at is steeking.  But just the thought of spending hours and hours knitting something, just to cut it open, makes me shudder!

I don’t know how to knit continental, so that would be something to look into.  I’m sure its just a case of how to hold the yarn in the other hand.

Oh, just thought of something………provisional cast on, I haven’t got my head around that yet.

  1. Oooh, that’s great you’re getting on well with the Endpaper Mitts. I’ve got several projects on the go at the moment, but I’d love to cast on for them too. Look forward to seeing the finished mitts!

  2. Yay for casting on for the Endpaper Mitts!!! I, too, can’t wait to see the finished results.

Steeking scares the heck out of me. Yikes!

  3. I always thought I’d be a natural at knitting continental since I’m a lefty, but no such luck quite yet. Looking forward to seeing your Endpaper Mitts!
