Book review: The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1)The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I’m not sure what age group this book is for, as it is a bit gruesome and bloodthirsty in places for kids, even though some of the characters are only 12 or 13. But I don’t think it is an adult book either.
I did enjoy it, the action didn’t stop so there were no dull bits. I was kept guessing about Katniss’s feelings towards other characters right to the end, and this still isn’t really resolved at the end, as there are two books to follow. I can’t imagine what those two books are about though as the actual Games finish at the end of this book. I’m not going to rush out and get the sequels but I may want to know what happens sometime in the future. Not sure if I’d want to see the film though.
